Remember, all of the photo don't go crazy of painting! Paint a selection at a time. Let's say you want color of eyes to paint just the eyes. Save the whole face, lips, and clothes for later.
3. Once you have drawn the area you want to color, hit Q on the keyboard again, choose Edit in standard mode. You should see that selection lines around the border of the photo as the area you have drawn. That's ok though, just go over select > inverse or CTRL + SHIFT + I on the keyboard. This is the choice to make the photo go way, only the selection around the area, you want to leave intact color.
4. Go to select > feather (ALT + CTRL + D) and feather the selection to make nice and smooth. Select the feather RADIUS between 3 to 5 pixels.
5. Go over to the image > adaptation > hue/saturation or CTRL + u. The "Hue/saturation" menu opens. Be sure to tick on the colorize checkbox, on the bottom right corner.
6. Now you can continue the photo color by adjusting hue, saturation, and lightness slider. You can also get rid of the colour choice go by on the view > tools (CTRL + H). Thinking, its all about experimentation, so if you all you need to do a skin to get timbre is to tweak the sliders get something on the color hue and saturation.
